SKATING champion Jayson Sutcliffe has returned home to Greater Dandenong in a move that could cause ripples in the skating world

The top coach is bringing three potential top liners with him to the Dandenong Skate Rink, including current world number two in-line figure skater, Kristen Slade and two newcomers, Edan and Tenielle Jury, who are quickly making their mark in the sport.

All three are members of the internationally sponsored team Edea Skates.

Sutcliffe, 37, of Springvale South was chosen as one of the City of Greater Dandenong's Sporting Heroes in 2005, after winning his fourth world title (in-line skating).

He taught at Rollerama in Ferntree Gully for 15 years before making the move to Dandenong last week.

He also spent four months in India working with children who had limited access to coaching and he is keen to rekindle that experience

``A lot of kids who live in Dandenong travel to Bayswater, Frankston or Scoresby to skate and hopefully we will get some of them back here, as well as a lot of the new ones coming through,'' Sutcliffe said.

Dandenong Skate Rink manager John Brogan said he was rapt with Sutcliffe's decision to move to his venue.
